Interview with Jim O'Raw






q)Who are you? Where are you from and where do you live now?

a)My name is Jim O’Raw, I’m From Birmingham England, after living out of the city for a few years I have returned, but I intend to move on soon-ish.

q)What is it that you do? What media do you use?

a)‘I am prostitute’ I specialise in silk screen printing, but I dabble in all media. Generally I’m an artist.

q)What do you think sets your work apart?

a)I believe my use of CMYK halftone when screen-printed is fairly unique.

q)How long have you been showing your work for? Did you have a “big break?”

a)No big break yet. While I was at Brighton University I used to sell my work in an independent record store, my work has developed a lot since then, I try and get it up as much as I can.

q)What are some things that have inspired you?

a)Apart from my peers, I collect old books and magazines ranging from a complete collection of microwave know how magazines to rare vintage porno magazines. Photography is my other passion. Holidays and bull-shit jobs always inspire me to create and avoid the rat race.

q)What have you been working on recently?

a)I collect interesting quotes and I’ve been trying to illustrate them.

q)Do you listen to music while you create your work? If so, would you give some examples?

a)Music is essential in my practice, I’ve been loving most things off the brainfeeder record label,

Mount Kimbie ‘crooks & lovers’ was the last c-d I brought, I deffo recommend it. Unbelieveable du by Scientist is playing as I type these words now. www.gorillavsbear.net is my favourite music blog.

q)Do you do work in any other media? Other projects not necessarily related to your main body of work?

a)Photography is important to me.

q)What advice do you have for artists looking to show their work?

a)Do it, just make sure it’s dreader than dread.

q)Do you have any upcoming exhibitions of your work that you can mention?

a)Last weekend I finished putting up a solo show at LCB skate shop at the top of BrickLane.

Interview with Ivan Cazzola






q)Who are you? Where are you from and where do you live now?

a)I am Ivan and I am a photographer, I come from Turin, Italy and I live between Milan and Turin and New York.

q)What is it that you do? What media do you use?

a)I am a director and photographer and I use a lot internet.

q)How long have you been showing your work for? Did you have a “big break?”

a)I started shooting at 6 years old and I have never stopped, my job is always in evolution

q)What are some things that have inspired you?

a)I am inspired a lot by music and all the rock’n roll world

q)What have you been working on recently?

a)On my exhibition and I am preparing with my editor a book that will be out in stores in june, it’s a collection of my latest 10 years of photos, the other one will be composed by unseen shot made in Berlin and New York.

q)Do you listen to music while you create your work? If so, would you give some examples?

a)Yes, I listen to classic music.

q)What advice do you have for artists looking to show their work?

a)I think that a lot of my projects are helped a lot by internet, so to everyone who would like to show their work, use it as a great comunication service and be brave, always.

q)Do you have any upcoming exhibitions of your work that you can mention?

a)I have already done an exhibition in Turin, and we will go with the same exhibition in Milan, Venice, London and New York
